1. 'La haula wala quwata illa billa hil aliyil azeem' is such a great medicine that it cures every disease and the most minor disease it cures is sorrow

2. Subhaanallahi wabi hamdihee, subhaanalla hil hazeem

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azim [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)'.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].


3. “O Allah, Make Your love the most beloved thing to me of all loves, and make my fear of you be the most fearful thing to me of all fears. Free me of the necessities of this world, by [granting me] a desire to meet You. When the eyes of the people of the world are cooled by their worldly belongings, let my eyes be cooled by Your worship.”

4. Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) used to invoke Allah in prayer saying: “Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min adhabil-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wa fitnatil-mamati. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-ma thami wal-maghrami.

O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave and from the afflictions of Masih Ad-Dajjal and from the afflictions of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from sins and from being in debt).” Somebody said to him, “Why do you so frequently seek refuge with Allah from being in debt?” The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) replied, “A person in debt tells lies whenever he speaks, and breaks promises whenever he makes (them).” [Sahih Bukhari]


5. Allahumma Ajirni Minan Naar

('O Allah, save me from the Fire!') seven times after Maghrib and Fajr prayers)


6. "Astaghfirullah hallazi la-ila-ha illa huwal Hayyul Qayyumo wa atu-bu ilaihe"

I seek forgiveness from Allah, the Almighty, there is no God but He. He is self-Existent, the Eternal and I return to Him.

7. Prayer for Fulfillment of a Need


The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “When someone seeks fulfillment of a need from Allah or man, he should first carefully perform ablution, say two Rakahs of superoragatory prayer and then offer thanksgiving and praise to the Lord; afterwards, he should invoke peace and blessings of Allah on the Prophet, and finally utter this prayer to Allah:

La ilaha illallahul-halimul-karim. Subhanallahi rabbil-arshil-azeem. Wal-hamdul lillahi rabbil-alameen. As’ aluka mujibati rahmatika wa azaaimi maghfiratika wal-ghanimata min kulli birrin was-salamata min kulli ithmin la tada li dhanban illa ghafartahu wa la hamman illa farrajtahu wa la haajatan hiya laka ridan illa qadaitaha ya arhamar-rahimeen.” [Tirmidhi]


8. Dua For Rizq 

Allaahumma Innee As-Aluka Rizqan Waasi-An T'ayyibban Min Rizqika

O Allah, I beseech You for sustenance – abundant, good and lawful-from the “sustenance” You own.

9. Dua at Times of Grief.

Prophet (saw) said '' if any servant of Allah afflicted with distress or grief makes this dua, his dua will be accepted''.....
O Allah i am your servant, son of your servant, son of your maidservant. My forehead is in your hand. Your command concerning me prevails, and Your decision concerning is just. I call upon You by every one of the beautiful names by which You have described Yourself, or which you have revealed in Your book, or have taught anyone of Your creatures, or which You have chosen to keep in the knowledge of the unseen with u, to make the Quran the delight of my heart the light of my breast and remover of my griefs, sorrows and afflictions


9. Dua for children

How to seek Allahs protection for children.........
The prophet saw used to seek Allah s protection for his grandchildren Hassan and Hussain by saying:
U'eeDhukumaa bikalimaatil laahit taam mating min kulli shaitaanin wa haam mating wa min kulli ainin laammatin
I seek protection for u in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and evry beast and from every envious blameworthy eye.

9. At Times of Saying Something Important.

Rabee shrah lee sadri wa yasir li amri wah lul ooq da tum mil lisaani yafqahu qowly. Oh lord open my heart for me and loose the knot from my tongue and make my matter easy for me so that they may understand my saying. Ameen

10. Dua at times of distress and uncertainty
Allahumma rahmataka arju , fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata'ain, wa aslah li sha'ni kullahu, la ilaha illa anta   O Allah i hope for your mercy so give me not over to myself for as little as wink of an eye, and set right all my affairs, there is no God but you.

11. Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyumu, Bi Rahmatika Astaghithu

Oh the living the eternal, i seek help in your grace

12. Dua for forgiveness 

Allahumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul afwa fa'fu anni

O Allah You are forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me."

13. Important Dua

One of the most famous prayers of Prophet Mohammed (saw) is known as the ' Prayer of light ' .....
O Allah place light in my heart, light in my sight, light in my hearing, light on my right and on my left, light above me, light below me. O Allah who knows the innermost secrets of our hearts, lead me out of the darkness into the light.  May Allah accept our Duas and our actions. Ameen, Thum Ameen

 DUAS EXPLAINED:


Dua’s can change our life, our outlook, and our fate. It is the most potent weapon of a believer.

Once Prophet Muhammad Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam passed by a people who were suffering from some affliction. "Why don't they make dua (pray ) to Allah for protection," he said. With all the suffering and disasters Muslims are facing in various parts of the world, the question can be directed to all of us today.

It is not that we have forgotten dua completely; we refer to it regularly. But, our ideas and practice regarding dua have become distorted. Often it is reduced to the level of a ritual. Generally it is considered when all our efforts have failed --- an act of last resort. It is belittled through actions and sometimes even with words. Is it any wonder that today mostly a mention of Dua is meant to indicate the hopelessness of a situation. Dua also requires action on our part. For example simple to ask Allah to give you good grades in an example will not work as the prerequisite is for you to study hard. In the same way changing a situation to the best of our ability for the things Allah has given us control over is essential alongside making Dua. For example your son or daughter or going off the right path. It is not sufficient enough to just make Dua, O Allah make my children pious, action is required in guiding them to the right path and with sincere Dua on top of that inshAllah you will see excellent results.
What a tragedy, for dua is the most potent weapon of a believer. It can change fate, while no action of ours ever can. It is the essence of ibadah or worship. With it we can never fail; without it we can never succeed. In the proper scheme of things, dua should be the first and the last resort of the believer, with all his plans and actions coming in between.

Dua is conversation with Allah, out Creator, our Lord and Master, the All Knowing, the All Powerful. This act in itself is of extraordinary significance. It is the most uplifting, liberating, empowering, and transforming conversation a person can ever have. We turn to Him because we know that He alone can lift our sufferings and solve our problems. We feel relieved after describing our difficulties to our Creator. We feel empowered after having communicated with the All Mighty. We sense His mercy all around us after talking to the Most Merciful. We get a new commitment to follow His path for that is the only path for success. We feel blessed with each such commitment

In every difficulty our first action is dua, as is our last. We ask Allah to show us the way to handle that difficulty; we seek His help in following the path He shows to us; we seek His aid in making our efforts successful. When we fall sick, we know that we cannot find the right doctor without His Will; that the best doctor may not be able to diagnose our condition without His Command; that the best treatment plan will not succeed without His Permission. We make dua for all of these. We make dua before we seek medical help, while we are receiving it and after it has been delivered. The same is true of all other difficulties we may encounter.

Dua is the essence of ibadah. A person engaged in dua affirms his belief in Tawheed (monotheism) and shuns belief in all false gods. With each dua his belief in Allah grows. He beseeches Him, affirming his own powerlessness. A person seriously and sincerely engaged in dua understands exactly the relationship between himself and the Creator and affirms it through his actions. That is the essence of worship! Additionally, such a person can never become arrogant or proud, a logical result of true worship.

Dua is conversation with Allah … It is the most uplifting, liberating, empowering, and transforming conversation a person can ever have.

Dua is our most potent weapon in all struggles of life as well as in jihad in the battlefield. During the battle of Badr, the Prophet Muhammad Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam stood up all night in prayer seeking Allah's help in the battle between unequal armies that would follow the next day. In the decisive battles against the crusaders, Sultan Salatuddin Ayyubi was busy day and night. His days were devoted to Jihad. His nights were spent making dua, crying, seeking Allah's help. This has been the practice of all true mujahideen.

We should make it a point to make dua for all things big and small. Nothing is too big for Whom we are asking from; nothing is too small for the one who is asking. That is why we have been taught to ask Allah when we need something as small as shoelaces. We should ask as a beggar, as a destitute person, for that is what we in reality are in relationship to Allah. At the same time we should ask with great hope and conviction that we shall be granted our prayers. We should remember the Hadith: "There is nothing more dear to Allah than a servant making dua to Him." On the other hand, a prayer lacking concentration and conviction is no prayer at all.

We should make dua at all times, not only during times of distress. The Prophet Muhammad Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Whosoever desires that Allah answers his duas in unfavorable and difficult conditions, he should make plentiful dua in days of ease and comfort." Also he said: "The person who does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him."

We should ask for all of our needs: those related to this world as well as those related to the Hereafter. Those who only concentrate on the former are, in effect, announcing that they don't care for their life in the permanent abode. They should blame nobody but themselves for the total ruin in that world that Qur'an assures us awaits them. Those who only concentrate on the later are also showing lack of balance, for we need Allah's help to lead a good life here as well.

We should make dua not only for ourselves but also for our parents, brothers and sisters, spouses and children, relatives and friends, teachers and other benefactors, and destitute and struggling Muslims everywhere. We should pray for them for the good in this world as well as in the Hereafter. The Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam said: 


 "The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says, 'Aameen. And may you also be blessed with the same.'" [Sahih Muslim]
